DEX based is a slower build up damage wise, but you have a companion that will be contributing so its totally fine. It also works much better with Shield Bashing because you can just focus entirely on DEX (just make sure to only use a Light Shield). TWF requires DEX, so this is much easier to pull off with DEX based.
